NPBC Site Design & CX

Client: The New Plaza Beach Club
Role: Creative Direction / CX / UX / Web Design

Problem

The New Plaza Beach Club (NPBC) is  a private summer resort on Long Island’s South Shore, in the Village of Atlantic Beach. It is a mere 22 mile drive from mid-town Manhattan and is easily accessible by the Long Island Railroad. Members join for the summer season from Memorial Day until Labor Day to enjoy carefree days at the beach.  I was hired to redesign the web site. The overall objective was to increase brand awareness and enhance usability and functionality of the site.

Solution

The redesign started with and audit and changes to information architecture and navigation. The usability strategy was based on simple navigation and ease of use. Membership and dining information had to be easy find and navigate.  Video integration and online ordering were added for enhanced customer experience.

Result

Dynamic content was served depending on time of day.  Header, background and content change three times daily to reflect time of day. Social Media channels allow for easy communication. Video offers insight into the clubs offerings and amenities, through video tours and testimonials.

NPBC-3-devices Responsive design

The site is fully responsive so members can stay connected and take advantage of online ordering, specials and reservations. Plans were made for development of an app to provide optimum connectivity with members.  The app was to include, cabana boy communication, valet service and personalized ordering features for the restaurant and bar. Unfortunately the Club changed hands before the web site could go live or the app could go past the wire frame stage.
